Rob G. Risman

Growing up in a family-owned business, you enter into the work of that business at a young, impressionable age. Son of CMI founder William Burton Risman, Rob Risman recalls “working cleaning parking garages over the summer and inspecting properties with my dad on the weekends.” After an undergraduate education at Tulane University followed by the University of Miami School of Law, where he received his JD, he rejoined the family business in Michigan working on a large development project. He left to practice real estate law in New York City, but returned home delighted to once again join the CMI team.

Rob worked his way through all aspects of the business from acquisitions to property management ending with his promotion to President of CMI in 1995. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Ohio. He knows this business first hand.

Today with the love and support of his wife Trish and his two sons Nathan and Noah, he looks to the future of Burton Carol Management. “I believe that we are an exceptional organization because of our core principles of integrity and hard work,” a theme which is carried throughout the entire organization.

Joy Anzalone

There is no denying that Joy, a self-identified workaholic, is one of the most dedicated and tireless people you'll ever meet. These traits have served her well from her early years of being a New York Times delivery person through her many years with Consolidated Management Inc. (CMI) which became Burton Carol Management, LLC (BCM).

Joy graduated from Kent State University with a BA degree in Journalism with plans to become a reporter. Real life took a few turns though with the loss of her mother weeks before her wedding, and in 1982 Joy began her career as a housekeeper with CMI following her husband Tony's employment in the Hotel Division. With the encouragement of both Tony and her beloved father who, along with her mother’s memory served as Joy's greatest inspiration, Joy worked her way up through a series of well-earned promotions and with the support and guidance of the Company’s CEO, Bill Risman who Joy says "took me under his wing as my mentor and role model." In 1995, she was asked to take the helm as the companies COO. Joy is frequently asked to share her experience through educational and motivational speaking engagements both locally and nationally.

Joy has worked diligently, alongside the CEO of Burton Carol Management, LLC Rob Risman, to define the future of BCM after the culmination of years of planning and strategizing for greatness. When not at work, Joy enjoys time with her husband Tony and their poodle Pumpkin-- gardening, cooking and enjoying life together. Looking to the future Joy sums it up when she says, "there is no stopping us now."

Roger Katz

Roger is happy that Burton Carol Management is a quick 7 minute drive from his home leaving more time to spend with his wife, Sue. However, when he joined the staff at CMI in 1995, it was not about location, but opportunity and a long term career. Roger brought valuable skills as both an attorney and a CPA having received his BS from the Ohio State University and his JD from Cleveland Marshall College of Law. Following his graduation he began his career as a public accountant. CMI, now Burton Carol Management is the first, and only, family-owned business he has worked for.

Roger enjoys the diversity of his work and is honored to have been instrumental in the ownership restructure that brought about Burton Carol Management. In his own words, “working on the birth of a new business enterprise is the most exciting work experience of them all.” He is looking forward to working with both Rob Risman and Joy Anzalone, as they explore new business opportunities for Burton Carol.

Joseph W. Kincaid

Many people don’t know that Joseph began his career with CMI in 1986 as a groundskeeper. Rising up in the ranks through a series of promotions, as is a common story at CMI, he has crossed over from maintenance to management. Throughout his years with the company he has attended, participated in and presented at numerous leasing, marketing and fair housing seminars; always looking for ways to expand the talents he brings to his work.

Joseph enjoys his life in Michigan with wife Kelly, son Brandon, daughter Courtney, and family pets Max and Sammy. He takes in the natural beauty of the state through family camping trips and driving his collectors ‘72 Lemans.

Reflecting over his time with CMI, Joseph takes pride in having worked diligently at establishing high standards for the maintenance of the properties and the service they provided to the residents. Pondering the future he says “I am looking forward to advancing those efforts with Burton Carol Management as we expand our portfolio.”

Jennifer Millican

Jennifer Millican began her career with our company in 1994 when she was hired by Marcia Hayward as a leasing professional in St Petersburg, Florida. It was clear from the start that she possessed much potential and within two years Jennifer was asked to take on a Property Manager position at a new acquisition in Bradenton, Florida.

She blossomed in that position, so when the company sold that property, Jennifer was asked to take on the role of Assistant to Marica who was the Vice President & Director of Management for the entire Florida Division and Jennifer also morphed into the Manager of Administration as well. There was never a doubt that Jennifer was next in line to head up the Florida Division, should that opportunity ever present itself. She learned so much working side by side with the VP & Director of Management and when retirement was imminent for Jennifer’s role model, Jennifer, having done every job on a property with excellence, assumed the Director of Management’s position in 2024. There will never be a more organized, analytical professional while also being so tuned into developing relationships that cause those reporting to her to want to work harder and smarter. There is no task too big and Jennifer is so hands-on, willing to do whatever it takes, whenever it takes to get excellent results. And then in 2026, after having worked in the position for over two years, Jennifer was given the position she earned as the Vice President and Director of Management for the Florida Division.

Jennifer is married to Jim, a Divisional Chief of the Lealman Fire District and a Governor appointed Board Chair of the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County. They share 4 children and 7 grandchildren, and one four-legged child named Barkley. When not working, they enjoy camping, taking cruises, and being huge Florida Gator Fans never missing a game.
