COVID-19 NOTICE

Dear Residents, Future Residents, Visitors and Guests,

Your health, along with that of our employees, is our highest priority.  We are continually evaluating our procedures relating to COVID-19. The message of "social distancing" must be taken seriously as this virus is spreading quickly by personal contact.  We ALL must do our part to make sure we are not helping the proliferation of this virus.   We have been communicating to you from the start of this National Emergency as we believe over communicating is smart.

Out of an abundance of caution, we closed our offices effective Friday, March 20th to all visitors (current residents and new visitors). We believe this offers the best protection for our people and community, which is your home. We will have someone in our offices to answer phones, emails and to dispatch emergency maintenance during business hours.  Continue, as always, to use our emergency line after hours. Other non-emergency maintenance requests will be done when we return to normalcy which will occur.  When paying rent or utilities, residents should use our portal.   This is the safest way to minimize contact for our people handling checks.  If you do not have a computer, then please mail your check to the central Burton Carol Management office located in your state. The only on-site payments we will accept are once rent is late and then money orders/certified funds must be slipped under our doors and a receipt will be created and slipped under your door. We are trying to minimize handling paper the best we can.  If you need help setting up your personal portal, please contact our leasing office and we will help you.

We are not conducting apartment tours in person but will be renting apartments via on-line methods.  We will be assisting prospective residents navigate our website, take virtual tours, discuss our availability while helping them apply for an apartment via phone or email.  We have adjusted our business hours and will be open daily M-F until 5pm, unless otherwise notified. Please view our current hours at www.burtoncarol.com.   We may have reduced hours on Saturday and some offices may close on Sundays.  Please email us your contact information of cell numbers and email addresses so we can have updated contact information for you. We will update residents via One Call Now for all important information.

Any employee that believes themselves to be sick are being instructed to stay home and seek medical care, although that is how it should always be as no one wants to catch a cold, the flu or COVID-19.   The government is advising people to take their temperature as COVID-19 usually comes with a high fever exceeding 100.4.  We are asking our employees to take their temperature at home before coming to work.  We know that thermometers are hard to find so we believe people should pay attention to their symptoms and call their doctors office first if they are experiencing a cough, fever and shortness of breath as these symptoms are most notable for COVID-19 as described by the CDC.  Above all people should not panic or stress (though we understand how stressful this is) but remember that most cases of COVID-19 are no more than a flu like illness that everyone recovers from just like the flu. We do recognize that it is the "at risk" population that is most vulnerable so our goal is to be sensitive to the fact that this virus is contagious and we want to protect our "at risk" people by minimizing the spread to all people.

To our residents, instead of in-person visits to our offices, please call us and let us know how we can serve you or email us with your questions.  We will strive to meet your needs in the safest way for the community. Please be patient as we are doing our best while thinking of you, your neighbors, each other and our families too.  The resident portal is intended for rent payments, lease renewals, general correspondence and for submitting service requests during business hours. Please learn to use it and if you have questions please ask.

Thank you for your residency and your understanding during this unprecedented event.
